Constructing the mobile experience at retail outlets

This side of the equation has been overlooked and retailers need to get involved and understand what they need to do in order to jump to the mobile commerce wave. The experience inside the store with the consumer is critical. M-commerce will become more appealing to the consumer as they can complete transactions on their mobile devices, without having to wait in line through the check out. To do this, mobile apps need to fine tune their capacities to interoperate with the retail transactional systems, like the POS and inventory. hence, again the importance of standards that enable different platforms and systems to work together. In this article there’s some suggestions of places where to start looking for standards building blocks.
